MET Public Domain Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art (aka. “The MET”) has an amazing collection of artwork. As of February 7th, 2017, thousands of these artworks have been made available online in the public domain. (full press release HERE) That means that all of the public domain images are now available for free and unrestricted use.

Since there are currently over 20,000 public domain artworks, I decided to choose a few by searching for semi-random words. Here are the results:
- MET Art Search: Silly – Powder Flask of Jacques de Silly (1513–1571)
- MET Art Search: Obtuse – Monuments at G. by Paul Klee (German 1879–1940)
- MET Art Search: Cramp – Cramp (clamp?) from Egypt, Pyramid Temple of Senwosret I
- MET Art Search: Moo – The Zouave by Vincent van Gogh
- MET Art Search: Einstein – Lewis Einstein by Eastman Johnson
- MET Art Search: Wolverine – “Pretzels” Getzien, Pitcher, Detroit Wolverines
Plenty of interesting stuff, for sure. If you find something you like, be sure to tell me about it in the comment section below.
Enjoy!
